Professional Experience

A brief overview of my professional experience.

  1. May 2022 — Current : DVT Software

    Senior Software Engineer

    Senior software engineer in the open source space (specifically Java, Spring Framework) along with AWS architecture and infrastructure. I’ve also given a few talks at the company’s internal tech talks, and I am part of the company’s high performance program. I am currently consulting for a large financial institution in South Africa, Momentum, where I am part of a team that is working on a large scale digital transformation project. This involves building new capabilities to enable functionality for the company’s new digital platform, called VIA Next. I’ve also given a few talks at the Momentum’s internal developer guild and have contributed to various cultural initiatives.

  2. October 2019 — April 2022 : Qode Health Solutions

    Senior Software Engineer

    Solution Architecture & Technical Leadership

    Partnered with the solutions architecture team to drive the development of comprehensive solutions for company-wide products whilst focusing on technical documentation, architectural diagrams, project documentation, and developer user guides.

    Qode Healthchain Back-end & Infrastructure

    Architecting, developing, documenting, monitoring, and maintaining the Qode Healthchain back-end and infrastructure stack, ensuring seamless operations and delivering scalable solutions that meet business needs.

  3. April 2019 — October 2019 : Entelect

    Software Engineer

    Software engineer in Java eco-system. This included building, maintaining and developing projects in frameworks such as Spring. Additional responsibilities included documenting requirements and code as well as knowledge sharing with team members. I was a consultant for a large insurance company in South Africa, Discovery, where I was part of a team that worked on Discovery Vitality rewards integration with Discovery Bank.

  4. February 2017 — March 2019 : Symbiotics Application Services

    Software Engineer

    Full-stack Software Engineer working with Angular, Java, and AWS. I was involved in multiple client projects. Responsibilities included front-end and back-end development, as well as infrastructure and architecture design and implementation. I contributed to the company’s website in the form of multiple technical blog posts.
